The Access HD on-screen signal meter allows you to optimize the antenna position with its strength meter. Using the smart antenna connection allows the antenna to automatically adjust the direction and gain to optimal reception for the particular channel. The sound quality for the Access DTA1010D converter is an upgrade from that of standard analog television. The best audio sound is delivered though the composite audio outputs. The closed-caption option allows font, size, color, and transparency adjustment better visibility. The only difference between the Access HD DTA1010D and Access HD DTA1010U the is the DTA1010D model has a dedicated remote and the DTA1010U model has a universal remote to program other devices. You will save about $10 with the 1010D model. Another good feature of the Access HD remote is the Recall button which allows you to return back to the last viewed channel. Picture quality looks fine on the RF output, about the same as the Sansonic 300A I have out there too. The TV in the garage only has 300 ohm inputs, heh, so it also goes thru a balun. Sensitivity looks to be a little less than the Sansonic 300A, but I need to test it some more over a longer period of time. The aspect ratio choices are fine for that TV. From what I understand, the Access HD CECBs with the -U codes have a Universal remote included. The ones with the -D codes have a dedicated remote included. |

| Higher quality signal reception. They promised and delivered. Just based on the reception alone, I’d get this box first. | |
