Many blue ray DVD players are very expensive for what they do. The Panasonic DMP-BD35K 1080p Blu-ray disc player is one of the best low priced high definition DVD players on the market. While other DVD players that support blue ray can cost upwards of $600 or more, the DMP-BD35K retails for only $299.99. Not only does this DVD player play blue ray discs, it supports SD cards as well. This makes the Panasonic DMP-BD35K DVD player a great choice for people who take a lot of pictures with their digital cameras. Other high def DVD players may not have this functionality, nor the ability to play blu ray DVDs. It is perhaps the best inexpensive DVD bluray player on the market.
The company, Panasonic, is one of the leaders in DVD and movie technology. With the advent of the new blue ray format, more and more DVD players are being made to support this new type of high definition. While ordinary HD-DVDs are phasing out of use, more and more blue ray DVDs are coming into the market. Therefore, companies are making more DVD players that support the blue-ray format. Panasonic’s DMP-BD35K blue ray DVD player has very little in the way of cons, the major one being a lack of coaxial support. Not many people use coaxial cables to connect their DVD players to their TVs, so this is not much of a con. All the advantages of a DVD bluray player are present in this particular model. The pictures are extremely sharp and clear and the sound is high quality so that a family can enjoy its movies like at the theaters, all in the comfort of the family’s own home. With an MSRP of only $299.99, this DVD player is much cheaper than other blue ray disc players currently on the market. Do not let that fool you, however, as the Panasonic DMP-BD35K is extremely well-built and is capable of providing the best movie experience you can get. With the option to load SD cards, it is a great way for a person to show off his or her digital pictures in high quality. The disc player also supports many types of CD’s, playing them in the best sound quality a person can find on the market. The new high definition DVD format, blue ray, is great because it allows a person to be able to watch his or her movies in the highest quality he or she can buy. That quality is equal to or better than a theater. |

For those of you who are doing your research, hopefully I can save you some time to answer if you should buy the Panasonic DMP-BD35K or DMP-BD55K. I called Panasonic and asked the differences; besides the price, there are only two differences. The 55K plays DivX’s. If you don’t have any DivX’s like me and most of the people on planet Earth, this doesn’t make any difference to you. The only other difference is that the 35K can only output Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio to a receiver/processor that has an HDMI input. If your receiver doesn’t have an HDMI input, you won’t be able to get them out of the 35K. If your receiver does have an HDMI input and you’ll be using an HDMI cable, then you have absolutely no need to buy the 55K. With the 55K, if you have an older receiver that does not have an HDMI input, you can use the 55K’s analog audio outputs so that you can have Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio. That’s a nice feature of the 55K if you have an older receiver but want the latest surround sound formats.
Also, to save you some research time, I’ve already checked out all of the professional reviews including the ones on CNet.com: The Sony is considered ok, and CNet liked the Panasonic so much that it is the first Blu-Ray player EVER to receive CNet’s “Editor’s Choice Award.” |

| Video and audio both fantastic! Running this to my Sharp 52″ LCD at 1080p/24 and I didn’t have any problems at all with video artifacts. Perhaps the previous poster had abad unit or didn’t update the firmware. I’ve had this for a couple of weeks now and am very happy with it. I tried the Sony BDP-s350, which was also good, but I didn’t like the user interface on the Sony, and also — even with the latest firmware — the Sony hung up playing The Godfather on BD. Anyway, I’ve had no problem with this Panasonic. The video is even nicer than the Sony. Firmware update was quick and painless (and, optionally, automatic). Just plugged in the hdmi, power, and ethernet cables and I was done with setup. Startup was about 30 seconds — not the speediest in the world, but not too bad, either. | |

| I have owned the PS3, Sony BDP-S350, Samsung BDP-1500, and the Panasonic DMP-BD30K. and out of all these the DMP-BD35 is my favorite it has taken all that was great about the DMP-BD30k and made it better. | |
